Stylish lodge right on the riverbank, with abundant wildlife on the grounds and in the surrounding area For our family safari in Samburu, we chose the newly opened Soroi Samburu Lodge, and we were not disappointed. We booked two adjacent triple rooms located in one of the newly constructed buildings right by the riverbank. Both rooms were tastefully and almost luxuriously furnished. From our private terrace, we had a great view of the river and could watch elephants, greater kudus, and other wildlife. The large pool offered a welcome diversion for the children during the heat of midday. During our week-long stay, we particularly enjoyed the varied and delicious food; there was always something suitable for the children, or dishes were prepared specially upon request. We usually took our breakfast—which we could assemble ourselves—out into the bush with us. Both lunch and dinner were not only visually impressive but also consistently delicious. We mostly dined on the large terrace in front of the restaurant, allowing us to keep an eye on the river and the wildlife. One evening, dinner was served in the "boma," which was a truly special experience! Lovely Stay Soroi Samburu Lodge is beautifully designed with wood décor throughout. Our private terrace faced the Ewaso Nyiro River where we were able to observe wildlife in action. Our guide, Dickson, a local from Samburu, was not only extremely knowledgeable, but had a great sense of humor as well. Thanks to our server, Helen, rafiki yangu (my friend), for teaching me many Swahili phrases and for always having our drinks ready and refilled. Peter, at the pool, could not have been more kind. We enjoyed having some downtime to relax poolside and on the sundowner deck between game drives. Our other Soroi stays were at tented camps and the spacious lodge accommodations at Samburu provided a nice variety. Wonderful stay! Lovely stay with an exceptional guide and great staff. This is our first trip to this lodge and the accommodations were beautiful. The staff was delightful and engaging and our guide Dickson was exceptional. Each stay in any lodge Kenya is going to be different. We really had a great experience here. While staying here, I would love to give a shout out to Helen the hostess in the dining area as well as Peter a wonderful pool boy who attended us in the afternoon in between our game drives. Highly recommended. Spectacular lodge in the heart of Samburu National Park. Rooms offer scenic views and all the necessary luxury amenities. The proximity to the river allows you to spot animals even from your room's balcony. Excellent and varied food.

Samburu is special! We had a great stay in Samburu! The staff here is so friendly and we had dedicated staff in the restaurant (Philip was great!) and our guide Dickson ensured we saw all of Samburu’s special 5! Great experience at Samburu Soroi Lodge. We recently (early July) spent two nights at the lodge (with my wife) and had a wonderful time. Spectacular Service at Soroi Samburu Located on the banks of a river which afforded me the opportunity to see, from my room, elephants and their babies drink and play in the water. Atmosphere cannot be separated from the service, which was impeccable. We were met and welcomed at the entrance with cool hand towels and big smiles each time we returned from a game drive. Wait staff was friendly and at our sides whenever we wanted anything. They called us by name and we could tell it was genuine hospitality. We were also walked to and from our rooms from the lodge by a staff member whenever it was dark. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, prompting me to comment it was "art food." But very tasty. And good selection. The room was large and pleasant and the bed very comfortable; they even provided mosquito netting which may not have been needed but was appreciated. My only problem with this beautiful and welcoming place was that I did not get to spend enough time enjoying the grounds (pool area, patios, etc) because I was too busy doing game drives to see the outstanding array of wildlife in the Samburu Reserve. Sisters Scenic Surprise Trip! We had the most wonderful 3 nights sisters holiday at Soroi Samburu. The lodge is located on a beautiful spot along the Ewaso Nyiro river, is off grid and focuses on sustainability. The rooms are large, clean and spacious with all the amenities. There are scenic spots all around the lodge where you could chill with a nice large pool to cool off. It's a peaceful and quite place with lots of trees and bird sounds. I had requested to see the hide at their sister company Larsen's and we were welcomed with such warmth and friendliness. They also packed a wonderful picnic lunch on our day trip to nearby Reteti Elephant Sanctuary. On our last day my aunt's group arrived to the most wonderful 70th Birthday surprise with wonderful song and dance by the lodge staff and cake on their welcome. Thank-you! Must mention the exceptional staff - Bernard & Proscovia the managers who were attentive and went the extra mile, Beautiful ladies Santelloi & Halima at reception who were very friendly & helpful regarding any queries we had, chef Nicodemas for the delicious food which was beautifully presented, Danny at the bar, wonderful Rosa and not to forget Freida the saviour! The Samburu special 5 (Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Grevy's Zebra, Somali Ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe) were nearby the lodge and we were lucky to see everything. We saw lots of elephants including lions with cubs playing on the dry river bed. The highlight was the cheetah on a rock, on the most stunning background of the Mathews Range. Soroi Samburu really places the community at heart. I must acknowledge Andy Lekutas for his excellence as a guide and fantastic conversationalist! Truly made all the game drives, the picnic breakfast and the sundowners worth every penny I made. He guides with heart and passion. A massive thanks as well to Peter by the pool, Alvin, Samuel, Rosa, Saini and Bernard who watched over this solo traveller!
