Diving & Snorkelling

Kenya’s south coast reef is one of the
most varied in East Africa — warm,
clear, and alive year-round. The
fringing reef stretches the full length of
Diani Beach, making snorkelling
directly off the sand a remarkable
experience even for first-timers.

Lobster & Champagne Beach Dinner

A private table set directly on the sand, lit by lanterns with the ocean just steps away. Fresh lobster, chilled champagne, and a menu created around the catch of the day — an intimate evening for couples or small groups, away from the main dining areas.

Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest

A UNESCO-recognised Mijikenda sacred forest a short drive south of Diani, still cared for by traditional elders. Guided walks through the indigenous coastal forest reveal rare plants, birdlife, and small mammals, alongside an introduction to the cultural and spiritual significance of the kaya to the local community.

Fort Jesus & Old Town

Built by the Portuguese in 1593 at the edge of Mombasa’s Old Town, Fort Jesus is one of the most significant monuments on the East African coast. The Old Town surrounding it is a living network of carved Swahili doorways, spice traders, and layered history best explored on foot with a local guide.

 Verified A really lovely place for a relaxing and comfortable safari experience We enjoyed the beautiful architecture of the whole Lodge surrounded by nature, lovely rooms with extremely comfortable king-size beds enveloped by mosquito nets that also encompass the bedside tables and charging points. The morning 2.5-4 hour and evening 2.5hr game drives provided plenty of game viewing. We were lucky enough to see lions and cheetas alongside plenty of elephants, many different antelope species, birds, giraffe etc. We were very happy to have booked the open 4x4 vehicle with Alvin as our guide and also had a wonderful early morning walk with Adamson. The spa has truly stunning views and the massage quality was excellent — so good that I booked a second one. I have a lot of massages and am very picky, so this is high praise! The therapist also made gorgeous body scrubs. The food buffet was very good and offered a lot of choice and all the staff, from the welcome team to waiters to security, were friendly and welcoming. The only negative was that we felt the drinking water in the restaurant was a little expensive. A great experience for those looking for more comfort, amenities and a good night's sleep coupled with easy game viewing.

 Verified Great place to feel like you’re in Africa! We spent two nights at the Soroi Samburu Lodge. Our large room faced the river with a private patio. It was rustic in a very nice way.  Verified Stylish lodge right on the riverbank, with abundant wildlife on the grounds and in the surrounding area For our family safari in Samburu, we chose the newly opened Soroi Samburu Lodge, and we were not disappointed. We booked two adjacent triple rooms located in one of the newly constructed buildings right by the riverbank. Both rooms were tastefully and almost luxuriously furnished. From our private terrace, we had a great view of the river and could watch elephants, greater kudus, and other wildlife. The large pool offered a welcome diversion for the children during the heat of midday. During our week-long stay, we particularly enjoyed the varied and delicious food; there was always something suitable for the children, or dishes were prepared specially upon request. We usually took our breakfast—which we could assemble ourselves—out into the bush with us. Both lunch and dinner were not only visually impressive but also consistently delicious. We mostly dined on the large terrace in front of the restaurant, allowing us to keep an eye on the river and the wildlife. One evening, dinner was served in the "boma," which was a truly special experience! For us as a family, the stay at the lodge was perfect, and just as we plan to return to Soroi Larsens Camp, we will certainly come back here as well.

 Verified Lovely Stay Soroi Samburu Lodge is beautifully designed with wood décor throughout. Our private terrace faced the Ewaso Nyiro River where we were able to observe wildlife in action. Our guide, Dickson, a local from Samburu, was not only extremely knowledgeable, but had a great sense of humor as well. Thanks to our server, Helen, rafiki yangu (my friend), for teaching me many Swahili phrases and for always having our drinks ready and refilled. Peter, at the pool, could not have been more kind. We enjoyed having some downtime to relax poolside and on the sundowner deck between game drives. Our other Soroi stays were at tented camps and the spacious lodge accommodations at Samburu provided a nice variety. We appreciated the Soroi touch of personal water bottles, wet washcloths after game drives, and a speical celebration for our 40th anniversary.

 Verified Wonderful stay! Lovely stay with an exceptional guide and great staff. This is our first trip to this lodge and the accommodations were beautiful. The staff was delightful and engaging and our guide Dickson was exceptional. Each stay in any lodge Kenya is going to be different. We really had a great experience here. While staying here, I would love to give a shout out to Helen the hostess in the dining area as well as Peter a wonderful pool boy who attended us in the afternoon in between our game drives.  Verified Samburu is special! We had a great stay in Samburu! The staff here is so friendly and we had dedicated staff in the restaurant (Philip was great!) and our guide Dickson ensured we saw all of Samburu’s special 5!
