Fantastic stay at Samburu Soroi
We had a wonderful time at the new, modern, and beautifully furnished Soroi Lodge. Our three days there were peaceful, which was perfect for us. The entire team is incredibly friendly and helpful. From Raina at reception, to Rosa and Joel, who looked after us at the tables, to John, who prepared fantastic food and perfectly accommodated my gluten intolerance! These are just a few of the team members. The game drives were also wonderful; we saw so much – thanks to Alvin and Jackson. And last but not least, the manager, Whycleaf, who is incredibly attentive to his guests and even found a quick and easy solution for us when our onward transfer fell through. Fantastic! SOROI SAMBURU EXPERIENCE
Loved that it’s located in the park, with a great view of river Ewaso Nyiro and beautiful mountains. The air was so fresh and we could spot animals from time to time. Loved the view from our room and it was always clean and tidy! Definitely worth every penny. The ambience was good, loved hearing the birds chirping and also the sounds from the monkeys and elephants. I enjoyed the food so much, every bite was so good. Service was 1000/10! George Washington was taking care of us for the 3days and we loved every bit of it! He is so kind, time keeping and professional. He definitely made our stay more enjoyable! Personal welcome and service. You are immediately greeted warmly to the tunes and dance of the Samburu tribe. Very friendly staff. We are thinking of Petro, Lino, and the service in the restaurant. Thanks to the entire staff! The cuisine is of extremely high quality with an eye for the presentation of the dishes. The chef is, of course, very good! It is a pleasant place to stay with a view of the river. The rooms are very beautifully decorated with stunning photos. Clean bathrooms, spacious room, terrace with a view of the river. Wi-Fi in the room. We stayed in room 17, in the "Zebra" block.

Soroi Samburu Lodge gave me hands-down among the best vacations I’ve ever had! The property itself is absolutely stunning, but what truly elevates the experience is the immaculate, heartfelt service from the entire team. From the moment I arrived, Rainah at reception made me feel instantly welcome, constantly checking in to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect. My safari driver/guide, Francis Maina, made the game drives unforgettable with his incredible expertise, sharp eyes, and passion for the wildlife. The dining experience was exceptional every single day. Special thanks to George Washington, who oversaw all my meals with top-tier attentiveness, along with Chantal and Helen, who provided wonderfully warm and seamless service. A fun highlight was meeting Joel, a talented line cook and server who turned out to be my birthday twin! Coming back to my room was always a joy thanks to Lino and Fridah, who kept everything spotlessly clean and went above and beyond by creating a gorgeous birthday surprise in my room. To the security team who escorted me at night thank you. Also grateful for the managers who consistently checked in to ensure everything was running smoothly. Our experience at Soroi Samburu Lodge was nothing short of FANTASTIC! From the moment we arrived until the day of our departure, we were treated to an extraordinary level of warmth, care and genuine Kenyan hospitality. The entire team, from the gentleman at the entrance gate to the management, made us feel not merely like guests, but like part of the Soroi family. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained and thoughtfully organised. Every detail reflected the care and dedication of the housekeeping team. Although Samburu can be quite hot and the rooms do not have air conditioning, the lodge thoughtfully provided an additional fan to make us more comfortable — a gesture we truly appreciated. And the FOOD!!! Oh my goodness!!! Being Jain vegetarians, we have very specific dietary requirements. Not only did the kitchen accommodate every single request, they went above and beyond, often anticipating our needs without even being asked! A very special appreciation goes to Head Chef Nicodemus and his entire culinary team, particularly Monica, who took meticulous care to understand every detail of our dietary requirements. Their creativity, attention to detail and willingness to make our dining experience exceptional were simply remarkable. And their homemade ice cream was absolutely out of this world! My wife, who absolutely loves ice cream, was in heaven! We would also like to recognise some truly wonderful individuals who made our stay so memorable: Wycliff, the Manager: Thank you for leading such an exceptional team and creating an atmosphere where genuine hospitality is clearly part of the lodge's culture. Frida, Housekeeping: Thank you for ensuring that our room was always spotless, neat and beautifully maintained. Your dedication certainly did not go unnoticed. Raina, Reception: Thank you for your warmth, helpfulness and for making us feel so welcome. Washington, Restaurant Service: Your attention to detail was outstanding. From ensuring our table was beautifully laid out to making sure every dish arrived promptly and in the correct order, you made every meal a pleasure. Thank you for patiently accompanying me on my evening walks around the lodge, sometimes several times in one evening, ensuring I could enjoy my walks safely. Your kindness and willingness to help went well beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. And to the entire team whose names we may not have remembered — the gatekeepers, security personnel, housekeeping staff, kitchen assistants, restaurant attendants, maintenance team and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes — please know that your efforts were seen, felt and deeply appreciated. It is a wonderful reminder of just how blessed Kenya is with its extraordinary natural heritage. What makes Soroi Samburu truly special, however, is not simply the beautiful surroundings, comfortable accommodation, delicious food or spectacular wildlife. It is the PEOPLE. Magical place
This is a magical place in a beautiful location. Loved staying here. Bernard is a great manager. At the restaurant Rosa is phenomenal. Ruth was also brilliant. Everything I needed was taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay at Soroi Samburu Lodge. The staff were the best. Special place - Soroi Samburu Lodge
Absolutely fantastic lodge. Beautiful location on the river with wonderful views and constant game at the river. Accommodation and facilities are excellent, the food is delicious and very plentiful. The staff are so welcoming , helpful and friendly they are truly wonderful and made us feel part of the family. The game drives were excellent and especially lucky to have seen the Samburu Special Five and so much more. Scenery generally was stunning. Highly recommend this lodge and this area.
