The property earned the prestigious Gold Ecorating Certification which is an acknowledgment of excellence in responsible tourism and hospitality best practices. The assessment evaluated key pillars including environmental conservation, community engagement, cultural preservation, and ethical business operations.
The camp demonstrates robust environmental management systems, including renewable energy use, water conservation, waste reduction, and carbon footprint mitigation. Its commitment extends to meaningful community partnerships, and impactful social initiatives supporting education, conservation, and livelihoods. The camp has achieved an impressive score, earning the prestigious Gold Ecorating Certification and making it the first Gold Ecorated property within Samburu National Reserve.
The assessment evaluated key pillars including environmental conservation, community empowerment, cultural preservation, and ethical business practices. The camp demonstrated robust sustainability systems, including solar-powered operations, advanced waste management and recycling programs, and water conservation measures aligned with national environmental regulations.
