The Experience You Didn’t Know You Needed

What if your dream safari lodge felt even better than the dream?
Soroi Samburu Lodge is spacious enough to feel luxurious, yet welcoming enough to feel like home.

Since opening just two months ago, the lodge has already received wonderful feedback from guests. The spacious rooms and thoughtful details, like oversized beds with pillows that almost hug you, set a new standard for safari comfort.

Dining is another highlight, with menus that are fresh, creative, and far from what you’d expect at a ‘big lodge. After lunch, the pool offers a cool escape from Samburu’s heat before an afternoon game drive.
And as the sun dips, guests gather on the deck for a sundowner overlooking the waterhole, often with the Soroi Signature Cocktail in hand, crafted from our very own gin. Light, delicate, refreshing and dangerously good.

Tears, Laughter, and  Baby Elephants

At Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, every animal carries a story—some joyful, others heartbreaking. And sometimes, the wildlife writes its own surprises: like a baby giraffe wandering up mid-conversation, as if eager to join in.

Located in the Namunyak Conservancy, Reteti is the first community-run elephant orphanage in Africa. It provides care for young elephants rescued from drought, accidents, or poaching, raising them with love until they can return to the wild.

Visitors witness not only the elephants’ feeding and playtime, but also the devotion of their keepers. One moving example is Long’uro, an elephant who lost his trunk, yet thrives thanks to extraordinary care.
Reteti is more than a sanctuary—it is a place of healing, compassion, and second chances. Guests often leave with full hearts and unforgettable memories.

Who’s Up for a Sleepover?

Think you need to be a professional photographer to capture incredible wildlife shots? Think again.
At Soroi Larsens’ Camp in Samburu, the Hide makes it possible for anyone to take magazine-worthy photos.

Four windows open onto a bustling waterhole, while the interior offers swivel chairs, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and gimbals for steady photography. Wildlife passes just meters away, making the Hide one of Samburu’s most thrilling experiences.

For guests who want even more, the Hide features four beds—allowing an overnight stay like no other. Imagine drifting off to sleep and waking up with elephants, lions, or antelope right outside your window.

Meet Sakita: A Voice of Samburu

Every camp has staff. Few have someone like Sakita. Warm, open, and deeply connected to his heritage, he has become one of the most beloved members of Soroi Larsens Camp.

Born in Chumvi village at the foot of Mount Kenya, Sakita grew up in a family of eighteen children. Inspired by his father, who valued education despite never attending school, he is passionate about ensuring opportunities for the next generation.

At the camp, Sakita shines in guest relations, where his stories, songs, and laughter create genuine moments of connection. Guests often treasure evenings around the fire as he plays guitar, blending traditional Samburu melodies with his own.
It’s in moments like these—real, joyful, and heartfelt—that visitors understand why Sakita is not just a team member, but a voice of Samburu itself.
